Wonder if I should get mine towed down to a weigh-bridge & just see what a completely stripped corsa shell actually does weigh!
But will have to finish removing the fuel tank & fuel lines & other bits before I do!
Heck, they need to go anyway!

Possibly, not sure about 800kg.
Nova is less weight than the Corsa and is stripped to death. I would say 900kg is more likely.

You reckon below 800kg
Saying that, the 1400cc engine I took out of the car weighs more than the X16XE, its like a cast iron block.
Ohh under 800kg how exciting.

Aye - but I've just added a bloody heavy sump guard and my roll cage is not light - together they add around 45kgs
Fantastic for handling though

just trying to find someone with a low-loader now so I can get to a weigh-bridge... I will have this weighed in the next few months, even if I have to buy 4 weighing-scales for fat people!

The new airbox doesn't permit me to use my strut brace. The sump guard does protect the sump and manifold, but more than that, it ties the chassis legs (a weak point on Corsas) and improves handling. When I picked it up on Tuesday with the guard fitted, I was amazed at the difference it made - it's more than made up for the loss of the strut brace (which incidentally, I have for sale now)
