Hello everybody

Today has been an interesting one, starting with me driving to Brosters this morning to go to look at a new car, we'll get to that in a minute.

So, in completely the wrong order:

Jr came to meet me today, to collect a cold air feed or two for J18, we met him at santa pod, and he followed us to marks to get 1 of them

then, he followed us back to mine, to collect the other one

When we were there, steam started coming out of my engine, from the back corner, near the alternator, the head gasket has GONE, as Jr will vouch for due to the ploom of white smoke/steam covering his car

this is not good

i tried to solve the problem with this....

which resulted in water trying to ignite in the cylinders (this i also not good)

so the corsa is dead, but Jr was kind enough to give me a lift to marks

On another, more positive note, the journey to wales was a succesful and fruitful one, i have purchased this.....

got it for less than he was asking for it, and he's fitting a black dash, sorting out the scuff on the front bumper, and ghanging a headlight for me

its so unbelievably clean, there is no rust whatsoever on the arches, and it drives like a dream

68000 miles from new, MOTs to confirm, all original booklets, and even the finance agreement from vauxhall in 1985

i'm picking it up 2 weeks today, as i'm on holiday next week

so all in all, not a bad day really

cheers to Broster and JR, and also Lee for giving me a bargain

comments appreciated

The nova really is a fantastic car, little trip to wales lol was worth it, i couldnt believe how rust free the car is, less than my corsa... and less milage! wow!

the death of the corsa is truely sad was eventful as im sure jr will comment on!

the fact it was flaming at 3k rpm on the last voyage was amusing! god bless it!

few comical comments were made, like the fact jr said it sounded like a cave monster.... wow!

and it will remaind standard engine wise for a while, but i imght put my 15" MO's on it, as the 16s currently on it scrub a little on full lock, and the brakes need checking as they are a bit spongey, but they work, no rattles, no rust, no grinding

amazing for a car which is older than i am
