I personally dont notice a difference in power or smoothness or anything when i use V-Power in the MINI but the engine is quiter and thats about it.
But iv heard people claiming they get more miles from it and its more economical and good for the engine.
Is this true and is it worth the extra few pence?
Thoughts, Opinions and Expercience's on this..

I've never got any extra mpg or felt any benefit using either the petrol or the diesel.

Corsa ran like poo on normal unleaded. Higher the RON best chance of reducing DET.

It depends on what engine you have.
They did a test on Fifth Gear once, they used the premium petrol in a small car (a Polo/Lupo or something) a mid sized car (Focus I think) and a big engined car (Subaru Impreza). They got not different power or mpg out of the first one, a tiny bit more mpg out of the second one and like 5 bhp, and a fair bit more mpg and like 20bhp extra out of the Scoob.

I just use it every couple of months if on a long run apprantly gives a good clean out. I havent notice any extra MPG or power with V power, its just alot quiet and smoother which is always nice.

My mate reckons it's good for the engine if you use it for a bit. He has a Z18XE and says he's not sure if there's much difference, but he hasn't used the standard stuff enough to compare

I'm thinking more and more that people seem to like to over exagerate how high mpg they are getting.
All the cars i've had and people I know with other cars don't get anywhere close to the claimed mpg figures on forums.

think you're missing the point.
if the car is a standard corsa, or whatever ordinary car, its mapped to run on ordinary 95ron fuel. if its a high performance car, like a scooby, m3 or whatever, including my 350z, its been mapped to run on superb unleaded, 97ron up to 99ron, unfortunately they just say "super unleaded" in the manual so i use v power 99ron, cheaper than most, and good quality fuel.

The MON rating gives a better indication as to a fuels knock resistance, as the test procedure is more severe.

I only use V-Power in the Corsa. The Golf gets normal unleaded.
Can see it makes the car run cleaner and better, although i've never had normal unleaded in it since it was converted. If you put your finger in the exhaust on my Corsa it will come out clean
Does make a difference on some cars though!

I only ever noticed a difference in the smoothness of the revs. But other than that nothing really.
But engine has only ever had V-Power since ive had it in my car so im sticking to that

unless you have had the head skimmed and/or running high compression pistons then there is no point putting this stuff in the tank... If you want the car to pull better but don't give a hoot about the cat, then buy 3 small £1.99 bottles of the concentrated red x and put that in and then take it for a spin... Will make the car a little bit more responsive at motor way speeds, and a bit better initial acceleration... Most prolly all in the mind tho

Use it in a scooter. It makes them go a couple of miles an hour faster top end

I put it in mine every now and again..
£20 of V-power seems to get the same amount of miles as £20 of normal unleaded. That indicates its better mpg but the price of it doesnt save you money.

I just ran the scoob on V-Power because it was mapped on that and I was told to. Kinda glad when I got rid and I could go to tesco again and pay normal prices.
