tim's selling his 1.2 16v engine...

yeh ok a 1.2 16v is much better than a 1.2 8v - but for the cost of the labour to do the conversion you might as well at least look at a 1.4 16v engine minimum so that in a year or so when insurance isn't so bad you can perhaps only chuck a manztel power box on or something to get a power increase!

Don't think it'll be easy - you could buy a 2.0 16v for not much money - its the converting that costs ...

I know Beardy charges £1500 to convert a corsa to a 2.0 16v!

A lot of people will disagree with you Bristolboy - many people with corsa B sxi's got em rr'd and got 75 - even printed in Total Vauxhaul.

Getting my car rr'd next sat so I'll know for sure then and finally put a end to the curiousity on what it is!

A fiesta 1.25 is supposedly 75 bhp too - yet I raced one on the m40 and we both topped out at around 117mph on the clocks (106/7 mph) and were basically not getting any further apart.

If there was 10 bhp difference + the fiesta's extra 50cc I think I'd have been left behind!

i thought corsa b were 65bhp to. Corsa C's have the same engined but the engine management system has been upgraded and hence the extra power. Thats what i wa told years ago at the motorshow. In all books i have read its 65 BHP for a b and 75 BHP for a c

Lmao at chucking in a 1.2 16v, don't bother converting anything less than a 1.6 16v.

The only conversion worth doing is to a xe20.... even the 1600 is a waste of money
