You don't need GPRS - that's an optional high speed link jobby, but it's pretty expensive TBH.

ok its a new phone and its contract. yesterday i recieved a settings text so i saved it and then went into the menu and clicked on those settings. when i try to use the wap it just says that gprs thing

Try this, don't know if the Menu's will be deffo the same?
Menu > Services > Settings > Edit Active Service Settings > Data Bearer
The Data Bearer section is set to GSM data on my phone, not GPRS?

ok so i dont know wot the fuck im doing here. i went into settings and realised it was gprs settings so obviously they are wrong.....where do i get new settings from ??? also i got the infared thing flashing now CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TEACH ME HOW TO WORK THIS THING

settings
edit active service settings
go down to "Data Bearer" and change that to GSM Data...
change the dialup number to 915000
make the IP 193.113.200.195
Data call type = ISDN
Call speed = 9600
login type = Automatic
Username = "geniewap"
no password
That's what i got on mine, it's a Genie contract, which is now 02 anyway, should give u free wap, i think

Right, the infrared thing will go off on it's own after a few mins as long as it doesn't pick up a connection with another device so no worries there.
To get the correct WAP settigns you'll need to speak to O2 and they'll tell you the info you need
