does it come from the engine or the radio? i got this at one point with my radio in my old car. whistled higher pitched the higher the revs were

Could be your Air filter maybe?? Or something like that.

Alternator belt/drive belt. i got a wistling on there cos i put the belt on the other way round after changing cam belt. think its too tight.

Is it a constant noise or just a short one.?I have a C 1.2 SXi (as many ppl on here do) and the standard airbox whistles quite loudly as the throttle is depressed. Its caused by the air sucking through the airbox.
My mates could not believe how loud it was for a standard airbox and filter
May apply to the 1.4 too.

dont think its nout 2 worry bout my 1.4 16v sri does it and my m8s 1.4 16v sport does it but if u r worrying get it checked out

No i'm not worried just sounds like my engine is fookin electric or summint is not alternator belt changed that the otha day they are well hard to get for my car and cost s h i t loads think its the airbox cos it stopped wen i put and induction kit on but i want to keep my air box so i'm gonna drill it some more

Had a similar problem when I got my 96 Sport - read somewehere it was to do with the cam tensioning pulley so took it to garage. Sure enough, someone had tried to replace the cambelt & stripped the threads on the tensioner pulley.
Might be worth havin someone to look at it mate, fortunately got mine done under warranty!
If you idle the car & rev it, the whistlin increases with the revs & drops back when u let off the gas, thats prob the trouble - my mate also had this on her Tigra so sounds like it might be a common one!

my 1.2 does it for the first couple of mins if its been cold!:s sounds like really high frequency:s
