Help, i really want a rev counter for my 1.4 Si 5 door but need to know if i need a mechanical or electric tacho?? and how would it connect up??

Can't be bothered to get clocks out of SRI as it means millage will be out, can i get a seperate rev counter to put on the dash?? how would it connect up??
