If something happens to those mods though or your car gets nicked they wont pay out for them!

It's true, LV don't ask what mods you've done, they just let you do them without it voiding your insurance. (not performance mods tho)

No i rang them and asked "if i modify my car do i need to let you know about it". They said NO. They said its not one of the conditions of the policy, they dont even ask if the car is modified, nor do they state that it wont be insured if it is modified

With the spoiler I think it's genuine SXi/SRi so when I insured the car say it included it as standard would I have still needed to tell them?
So can I ignore the spoiler and just tell them of the wheels? When I spoke on the phone I was given the impression it was some completely different aftermarket custom spoiler they were adding to my premium.

Im with Norwich Union.
Opinions?

your prob is mate your with norwich union and they try to rip u off good and proper! they tried to have me big time i told them i was lowering my car and asked how it would effect my policy and they said that it wouldnt at all which i thought was alittle strange but they sent a cover note to say as much so i was happy, then a month later they sent my renewal which had an extra 1000 on it for the lowering! i rang em up to see what goin on and they said they only said it was free cause i had such a short time on my policy, which they had neglected to tell me at the time, they made out it was generally ocmpany policy! and that they had put my premium up so much as they didnt want to encourage my business any longer! LOL i hadnt crashed or been done for speeding or anything! so i actually had more NCB if anything! so needless to say i didnt renew. i went with CIS who are miles better and only charge for enige mods anyway!

Ive got another 10 months left before I need renewing my insurance. It is costing me alot :S
Can I tell them of the mods a day after a monthly payment is due so that I wont have to pay the extra insurance till next month?

im paying £1040, all mods declared on a 1.4 8v sri with liv vic, and im 19 with 1yr ncd at the moment. I was told that all mods are covered so long as you have the receipt, but after reading this im gonna have to recheck as i cant afford to lose all the extra ive spent on the car if it goes walkabouts!
