Right im thinking about getting a dastek unichip,as a superchip wont be any use to the engine mods i already have,
problem is the rolling road centre near me quoted £500 for the chip, fitting, set up and 4 hours on the rolling road!!! i also need a new induction kit before that happens!
any body else know who fits these and for what price?
ive tried there website and has no links to there dealers
thanks

This guy has not long bought his chipping machine and set up a company.
www.chipped-smart.co.uk
He's going on a course this week to learn how to edit the ecu maps.
Gonna map my smart car on velos' rollers with it as soon as he knows what stuff to change.
Do you want me to let you know how we get on?
Id of had a unichip, dta race spec and a standard ecu re-map done at velos then!
His re-map has already increased his smart from 62 to 114bhp!

If you're in the east, Emerald engine management is a good option, fully mappable. Dastek chips can't up rev limits. and for the extra money you get alot. I run emerald on my 1.4 16V. Mapping is also fixed at 235 all inc. which is cheap. The ecu is £600, but you can use it on ever car you own in the future.
have a look on www.jenvey.co.uk and look ing the management bit and see what's there. the Dastek unichip doesn't work out too much cheaper

to up the rev limit you run a unichip with a super chip, the unichip overides the superchip programming wise mapping etc but keeps with the raised rev limit of the superchip

You can get a unichip rev limit unit which you solder in to your ECU to up the rev limit.
Dont bother though, right swine to fit and mine caused loads of problems.

If you want a raised rev limit go for dta.
Might sound expensive at £1000 but you can put it on almost every engine.

Mine had 147 on unichip and rev limit unit at 7000rpm, (142 @ standard rev limit).
I also had velos' plenum, decat and induction kit.

I had the dta on bout 2 months after that due to rev limit unit causing my car to cut out at 70mph, went up to 7822rpm once on DTA!
Ive got my DTA in a box in me room waiting for its next engine to run.
If you can afford it get the dta, but only required if uve got throttle boddies or more powerful mods really as it costs loads more than a normal chip.
You get what you pay for though as you can re-map dta whenever you want and you get an un-written lifetime guarantee!
Ive never heard of any 1 unhappy with customer service off a race spec ecu manufacturer!
