Got mine all hooked up but think ive missed something. I press the button and the boot opens but is still on the latch, if i keep the button pressed the boot opens but obviously my arms arent long enough to do both at the same time.
What have i done wrong?

Just not strong enough solenoid perhaps...
One solution is to get stronger lifters so when it pops the boot opens right out...

I was recommended this from other people tho, and they've said it works fine on their's as it is.
Where would i get stronger lifters from?

it the fact that there is two latches the smaller one will keep it latched you can
a get a dremel out and grind it off
or
b u push the relese button and a mate lifts the boot

option a is a bit crap if your boot pops open at 80 on the by pass...

What if i've got no mates...in the car with me and need to get in. I'm using all the original stuff, not using wiper wires or anthing like that so i'm not likely to knock it when i'm driving.

The black bit is the safety, it catches on the solid black hook at the bottom.
U need to file where the arrow is so it doesnt catch nemore, pull the latch around so u can get the to back where the arrow points and file....
Hope that makes sense

ive had mine fitted to my nova for like 6months and had no probs.
just need to make sure the solenoid pulls far enough, i.e. too much slack in the wire

then as stated above, stronger lifters. you should be able to pop it and the boot rise open.
getting rid of the safty aint advisable now is it!
