I was just wondering what the difference in insurance costs are for a normal car as to a import version??? is it only few hundred pound difference or thousands??

It doesnt cost us anymore through directline. They said it doesnt make a difference. Otheres either refused to insure us or wanted silly money

i had a few quotes for a jap scooby import and they were higher than uk scoobies by about 150quid, some said they wouldnt insure an import unless i paid a grands excess

now thats weird cos some companies charge a minor fee whilst some charge you thousands

You have to bear in mind that if you crash how easy will it be to locate parts? ie not all stud patterns are the same for an import equivilant.

I have found as my dad has too that import insurance on average is normally around £300 more...this is just coz insurance compaines are very wary of them and dont have them registered on a national database so they cover there own backs!
