I finally got my steering Boss through from the shop i bought it from a month ago, just wanted to know how to fit it, and more important how to remove the standard one. Its on there tighter than a nuns love hole.

Tell me you didn't hit the end of the column with that hammer.

are you refering to the fact that the steering couloum colapeses under pressure?

I am. Its designed to collapse under impact and its possible to damage it if its had hammer blows on the end of it.

or just stop being tight and spend 10 quid on a puller, notably though its only gm cars that need one.

I must be one of the lucky ones, when I took my wheel off it almost came off in my hand, very little effort was needed.
Only thing is that my airbag light is on now, and Vauxhall want £40 to put it on Tech 2 and turn the light out I might just remove the bulb instead.

yeah i did hit the column but made sure i didnt fuck the collapsing bit. the top half of the steering column is fixed in place, its the bottom part that collapses from a front end collision (when the engin ends up on your lap) every thing is fine and dandy luckily.
