is this possible, to rip the films off a vcd onto ya pc as a avi or mpeg file?

if so - how?

To copy as an MPEG

Copy the AVSEQ01.DAT File from the MPEGAV Folder & rename to soemthing like "The Elf (CD1).MPG", or if there is 2 CD's or more & you want them all as one file, use a program like TMpegEnc
to encode as an AVI, use VirtualDub, mind, will also do pretty muych what TMpegEnc does
