basically mate, you could prolly get a 1.6 from a few scrappys but you will probably find you wont get the MATCHING brain, transponder and pickup point, basically the transponder sits in your key and comunicates with the pickup point round the barrel lock, then verifys the key is the correct key for the car, without all electronic codes matching each other the car wont start due to the imobilizer, also got a down pipe here if ya want that too after 90 quid for the lot.

or get an Early C16XE 1.6 engine which didnt have all this key transponder stuff better engine too than the X16 XE i got a C16XE sat on me garage floor but i just sold it for £100 with engine gearbox, loom ecu driveshatfs manifolds every thing ya need

so am i right in thinking that X16XE is from sport whereas the C16xe is from gsi?
