I did the same to mine, it really does sound nice. not too intrusive but you can tell the difference, its not overly loud but the car sounds powerful (even if it aint) doesnt pop as such more like a gurgle when ya lift off.

Me 2 but with twin square b/box. Can be loud if you floor it but normally ok, I dont notice it as bn loud when in the car but my neigbour moans (but he's a prick :lol He thought it was as bad as the guy across the rd with the cherry bomb on his SXi! If it was it would've bn skipped as his sounded like there was no boxes at all! Too loud & distastful. Raspy when cold but pops & burbles when warm, deffo sounds gr8, even my mate with the valver loves the noise so it cant be too bad esp for a v12 puttydinger! 3 cyl prob sounds better than a four, more distinctive?

all it does is help the air flow faster. the job of the centre box is too slow down the air

I asked my local garage about removing the centre silencer not so long ago on my 1.2 16v sxi corsa b and they said u wud loose a lot of back pressure and therefore power! so I'm hesitant to do it. I got a rage sp11 4" back box on mine at the mo and it has a real low rumble which is wikkid, can't decide whether I want to take the risk and loose power to gain sound. However I have bin told on the 1.2 16v sxi if u do remove the cat which is in the engine bay it will increase power and the chances are u will pass ur MOT cos the emmisions from this engine are very low anyway. What I mite try is gettin it removed and aving it tested to see if it wud pass. Although a lot of hassle tho.
