what would be better, a 1000w rms (2000w peak) 15" sub OR two 12" subs at 500w rms each with a 1000w peak???

two 12" would be louder. depending on variances such as make, enclosure.......

2 12"s would move more air so it would be louder (in theory) and the bass would be tighter than that of a 15", but like corb said, it depends on your box and if its ported or sealed etc etc
