Author got a problem with my1.6 sport

Just brought a 1.6 sport, recently fitted k&n and exhaust, when racing through the gears it has quite bad flat spots. i've resetted the ecu but still has'nt sorted it. Has n e 1 had the same problem?.. & how did you sort it.

have u got a good cold air feed?
thrashing it when engines very hot or overheating doesnt help coz sucks in hot air and this is wat probly causing flat spots

yeah i;ve a good cold air supply, it happens all the time hot or cold. gettin a superchip fitted on sat, do you reckon this will sort it out

but superchips usually just release top end power by increasing the rev,

i used to have a KnN on my Gsi,only had flat spots wen engine was very hot!

Problem is ya filter,you wanna put a panel filter in a drilled box or get a viperiduction kit, Vauxhalls and Cone Filters dont mix

superchip will take some flat spots out, it took one out on my car!gave it more power all thru the range

Try runnin some injector cleaner through it too...

I got a green cotton kit on a ecotec engine. I get NO flatspots at all. Got a couple of cold air feeds to it. Good when hot and cold.

Broster thought you had a Pipercross Viper Like me, with these you dont have to worry about heat etc and flat spots cos they are sealed and behave??????
