I'll take a lot more power, not too keen on the cost that goes with it though!

Obviously you get what you pay for but for a 25bhp increase and little scope for further improvement 1k seems like a lot, if you decide you want more at a later date it will be the first thing you will need to get rid of.

Yeah, you are getting new management, internals, cams, etc. Big bucks but I reckon its worth it if you want big power.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go for the q420 too. Do you know which DTA management that comes with, the P8 pro or e48exp? I'm guessing it will come with the latter, first one seems a bit hight spec for a 4cylinder NA really. Still has launch control and full throttle gear changes though!

yeah its the e48exp one, still is plenty good enough for the job! I've got a copy of the mapping software for the e48exp to have a play about with & get used to where everything is, and there is a hell of alot of options you can play with in there!!

gona be gettin a set of conrods aswell though, it doesn't list them in the kit, just arp rob bolts, so wana play it safe

quote:
From QED Motor Sport

Q420 – 215 to 220BHP
A pair of exchange, Q420 profile camshafts
(not suitable for the standard hydraulic followers)
A set of solid cam follower inserts and shims
A pair of vernier cam pulleys
(for more accurate cam timing)
A set of forged pistons
(with the deeper valve pockets required for this cam profile)
A set of race quality rod bolts
(for a higher rev limit)

Each kit comes with an engine management package from DTAfast including a distributorless ignition system. Each kit also includes either a set of Weber 45 DCOE carbs or a set of our direct to head throttle bodies]

The guy who rebuilt my engine has done a few TB'd XE's including one that was pushing near on 300bhp and used for hill climbing.

He reckons the QED stuff is top quality kit and that the DTA is a better system than MBE. I'll definately be going for it instead of SBD's set up.
