i think people get fed up of replying to posts like this... a quick search will reveal how to read off the ECU fault code which will alert you of your problem.
Alternatively look on topbuzz.co.uk

when i first bought my corsa the light came on, my mechanic plugged it into the tech-2 machine and the camshaft sensor came up, so he re-placed that. about a week later the light kept coming on again this time lambda sensor . it happed again this time it was the air-mass sensor!
because i had a warranty from the mechanic who sold me the car, this was all free.
the ecu light kept coming on so he decided to change the ecu all together!
it works now and has done for last 6 months
phew!

EGR or idle control valve knackered, being a frequently asked question it may be unusual to find it in the FAQ section under electrics.
