You haven't said what your doing to it, it you'll keep it std then just a std rebuild would be fine, if you want to rinse 230+BHP out of things are different

u wont need to do anything to it for 200bhp, just a usual service like cam belt and rollers, oil filter and oil ect will do fine

List would be roughly:
ARP rod bolts,
Rebore/hone depending on wear (if hone then new rings, if rebore bigger pistons)
Uprated and new shells (check crank journals for wear and maybe regrind if needed)
Steel gear oil pump
Head will need porting to get 200BHP from tb's
Strip clean and rebuild head, (check cam wear, strip lifters check cam bearings for wear)
Be worth skimming the head to raise compression a tade, no higher than 11:1 though on normal fuels.
Then be a cause of TB's and management.
I'm in the process of building a mates corsa toa 200BHP 20XE spec.
The early engines made at cosworth are better as the bottom end is strong and has forged mahle pistons.
Good luck.
P.S bigger isn't defo not better for TB's we're only using 40mm bodies.
Hope this helps.
Only a rough guide mind.

sorry where did i say it was 150bhp standard???
i said u wont need to do any engine strengthing for 200bhp out of the 2.0
also u dont need to port the head to get 200bhp from tbs, sbd 208, 225, 235 kits dont use any additional head work to get those power figures

The 208 kit doesn't make 208 in the car. And you do need to drop in ARP's to get the revs up enough, 8k on std rod bolts, I don't think will last. Take a std engine and drop tb's on and ARP's you'll be looking at 185-195.
And you do need to port the ehad for the 235 kits. or e-mail SRE and ask how to make 230BHP, or QED for that matter.
Plus if you want the engine to last as long as a std one uprated shells are a good idea.
Plus how many low (genuine) milage 20XE's are there, they've all done 110k not the best starting point for longevity of the engine.

The kit comes with ARPs, and i know the 208 wont make 208 excatly, probley more like just under 200 with a decent exhaust manifold and system
ok maybe the 235kit may need head work, it dosent say so on the site, but i was mainly refering to the 200bhp mark which u dont need head work, a set of cams and tb's will achieve over 200bhp easy

You didn't say that before. A ported head is better than dropping in cams. you'll keep the bottom end and gain the top end, as apose to looss botom to gain top with cams. Std cams are fine for 200BHP. And with PAS/alternator will certainly make less than 200BHP. Ask on migweb what power ppl get off the 208kit.

yer i did say that, i ment the kit comes with heavy duty rod bolts, apart form that thats all the internal work ull need for 200bhp
and i also agree with u, id rather have say a blyndstein b+ head then a set of cams
and im not disagreing with u on the 208 kit, i know it dont make that

IT would be a bare bottom end and head, all the pulleys etc... would need fitting. Plus a egie shop should be able to do it for you for 500notes.
