i tried it both ways, live and negative! but not both to the key barrel at same time.
as far as i can remember theirs 4 wires in the key barrel, ONE constant Live and THREE switched Negative which only come on when ignition/engine is on!!
what am i doing wrong?

you need to have the live connected permanantly and then find the earth wire on the ignition that works when the keys are removed.not sure which wire it is though

ok, so does the constant Live have to be conected to the key barrel though?
im sure their is no negative in key barrel which comes ON only when ignition/engine is OFF?

no live is connected to a permanant live but not the ignition otherwise when you turn off the ignition it loses it's live feed.most ignitions have a earth that works only when keys are removed or when the ignition is turned off but i don't know which one on the corsa

If you've got electric windows, electric mirrors and central locking its just a case of red to red wire in door(permanent live) and black to black wire in door(switched live).
They only come on when the ignition is off then.
