have you fucked it changing the bulbs by any chance?
if so i can 99.9999% guarentee that you pulled the plug off and is loose, this happens to everyone, just solder it back on, i have to do this everytime i take it out.

no i aint mate!! its all black totally burnt out its weird and i dont know how it happend? i thought the bulbs had blown cos it was workin for ages then just went so i thought it would be bulbs but was burnt through!!
