Any colour is legal providing you are getting enough light coming through from the bulbs.

u will need sum way of reflecting red light backwards though.....without reflectors its not legal

True, you'll need to either leave your standard reflectors unpainted or fit accessory reflectors.
If the lights are legal then the Police can go and fuck themselves.
Get a verdict from an MOT test station and get them to sign something to verify the lights are road legal - keep it in the car and show it when you're pulled over.
If you're bothered about being pulled over, then keep the lights standard.

Pinnacle Vauxhall in Luton have passed my car twice now with these rear clusters even though they are technically illegal.
This time, they said it would fail on the side indicators as they had blue lenses even though they light up orange, the exact same indicators they passed it on last year.
