i have been summonsed to court on a technicality,( my license isnt dvla issued ) and ive been reading the info they've sent me. aparently i cand send (by post) a plea of guilty, or appear in person and plead guilty. if i send my licence and plea, via post, does this mean that i dont have to pay costs? i.e. they deal with it in "out of court" time ?? and what would be the result of doing this?
they dont like making things clear.
so what they say is-
1 get a solicitor plead guilty or
2 turn up plead guilty or
2 send your plea of guilty, dont come to court
i intend to plead guilty but would like to avoid going to court.
they even got my registration number wrong!
has anyone been in this situation? if so, advice appreciated
cheers

Its issued by the DVLNI,(northern ireland), smart arse , so its not compatible with the penalization method for england, hence why im in court.
so i rekon theyre just goona either fine me or order me to pay costs, can antyone shed some light?

It will be the same what ever. It still has to be read out in court with you there or not.

the car is classed as an import if you dont re-reg. yes, ive got a new v5(c) now which is the european format, acceptible everywhere in E.U aparently? at the time i got the points via gatso, the car was dvlni now ive re registered it with dvla.
just wanna know what im required to do, i dont mind taking it on the chin!
so can i just send my license and the plea? or will i just go there?

I don't have a clue about court proceedings but good luck anyway! Hope you don't have to pay out too much

you should ask about legal aid, they might pay all your fees for you and then you wouldnt have to pay them

if you could mate, that would be great, i just need to know if i can get away with not appearing in court with the same penalization as if i attended court.
and what the likely punishment is (speeding (only 37mph), and consequently incompatible licence for endorsment)
cheers matey

"If you plead guilty by post you still get clobbered for the court or prosecution costs. You just save your own time and expense. If it is a minor matter then pleading guilty by post is the simplest thing to do. he can send a letter with all the info he wants to give them. If he needs advice about the offence itself I wd need to know more about it. Also I think licences in N Ireland can be endorsed with points here or there are some kind of reciprocal arrangements." --what the solicitor said
