Workmate has a 2 litre 8v cavalier, h reg 180k miles £200. I'm tempted to do a engine conversion on my 1.2 8v corsa, perhaps rebuild the engine if needed. The car has MoT to July. Is this a good plan or should I look for something with lower mileage?
What is the spec on these engines?

dont bother mate think 2.0 8V is only bout 115bhp or summat ike that. Save and get the 16V (150ish bhp) IMO or get a 1.6XE (109bhp) they are as quick plus they got sweet handling.

I know the 16v has more power but won't it be harder to fit? I'm looking at a do it myself job and the 8v's should slot in, shouldn't they?

i have looked into it myself and can say that it doesnt look that much harder to fit a 16V than an 8V personnally id go for the 16V and attempt it (u always got help and info on here) and the end result will be better, 150bhp or 115??
why not get a 1.6 16V, these will be dead simple to fit and at 109bhp are nippy plus have better handling over the C20XE IMO.
