My mates got a 02 lime green smart car. Has Brabus alloys and all the extras. Dump valve and that. He loves it cos he drive it anywhere it will fit. Drive round town in reverse ffs!!
Anyway last night he was driving along in a 30, and a woman in a Passat pulled out and drove straight into the side of him, shoving the car through a fence and into somebodys garden.
The passenger airbag went off smacking his mates head into the side window. Apparently they are huge! Totally fcuked one of the alloys(these ar £1500 a set!) Not sure of the full damage.
Anyways they both got out and were okay! My mate wasn't even bothered. He knocked on the front door of the persons house whose garden he was in, and explained that his fence wasn't very strong! And then explained that the garden looked lovely by the way!
I think the womans paying out for the damage, as it was her fault!
MAde me laugh when I heard about it

fcuking hell id rather be in an accident in a damp shoe box than a smart car!! I saw an accident where 1 hit a dearat around 35mph and was totally written off and the guy had 2 broken legs!!

I would rather have an acciden in a smart car than a corsa, they are a lot stronger Tridion safety cell works wonders.

a woman died around here not long ago in a smart car after a transit van ploughed into her and sent her into a raised roundabout. it wasnt her car-she just dropped her clk off for service-smart car was courtesy car. and to this day, still havent got the driver of transit van

i saw a smart car just the other day as it crashed into rear quarter of a tigra on this roundabout......amazingly the tigra came off a lot worse, was surprised how strong the little smart car was..

Front airbags should only go off if the car has been in a frontal impact otherwise it is dangerous. Thats why they have side airbags.
I would of thought she must of caught the front of his car for it to go off
