use axel stands to hold car up then use yer jack to take the wieght of the rear axel. Undo all the bolts and the brake lines then lower axel down.
is it a corsa yer doing it to? if so its a piece of piss to get he rear beam off once u have the right tools.

nah it wont i was putting in shocks and springs the other week which meant partially undoing the rear beam and its 10 years old also and had no probs. Actually really easy.
just take your time and think about it and u'll have no bother
the hardest part will be getting the breaking pipes back working again and its not even hard just fidly

why did you have to undo the rear beam to change the shox's and springs?
id have thought you just needed to undo the bottom shock bolt on the beam

i bent the axle on my corsa ages and ages ago when i had a slight, wheel meets kirb encounter .
It was really straight forward 2 put the new axle on. You will be able to get it off no probs.
