have finished off most of my tailgate now, have hole filled with p40 and p38.
only smoothed wiper, colour coded lock and gonna respray whole boot.
have never even seen filler/fibreglass etc, let alone use it, this was my first effort. and its gone really well, am chuffed 
i feel inspired now, wanna smooth more stuff  gonna try scuttle like drew's, think i might just copy his idea and pretend i thought of it
big thanks to CRB 553 for taking the time to write guide, dunno if he using the board much, but was a really helpful guide he wrote.
