car will run like a bag of nails, i wouldnt recommend running it, easiest way is to drain the fuel tank, do this by unclipping the fuel line just before the fuel filter and put it in a container, then switch on the ignition, the pump should pump out all the diesel.

U really dont wanna run ur car with ANY diesel in it.

Diesel is an OIL and will sink to the bottom of the tank. When u next run low, it will suck pure diesel through, which wil fcuk ur car up good and proper.

No amount of Redex will help. In most cases, a full rebuild is required after.

fill the tank to the neck with petrol and it'll be fine

though it will smoke a bit more than usual as it burns off the diesel

My mate works at a shell petrol station and he always tells people to dilute it with petrol.........not necesarily the best thing to do but allot of people do it.

if you fill the tank the diesel will clean the cylinder head (like redex )but you would be better to use optimax due to the higher octane level

Doesnt he mean he put diesel in his Petrol??? Coz 2+ litres of derv in a petrol will block it up like a bitch!!

What eva u might think Petrol DOES NOT "MIX" with diesel. They separate. He will find that if he gets low on fuel, his engine will be suckin thru near enuff pure deisel (oil).

bye bye injectors.

also, it will sit as a film on top when the car is stationary, it may not mix but will get slooshed about when the car is moving so it will never be pure diesel in the fuel lines and will be gone by the time he gets to the bottom of the tank

1.5ltres in a 45ltr tank is only 3% contamination

I regret to admit it but I done that too. Took the car off the road for two days. Took the tank out and drained it, you will also need a new fuel filter. Put some optimax in and take it for a quick blast. That should sort it out.
