1. Yes
2. I think the early small engined ones didn't have them, my 1ltr did though.
3.I'd guess so, I think GSi's have slightly thicker ones but could be wrong.

mine doesnt have the piece join the two bars together
mine explain y i nearly ended up in a hedge the other day
i only have a nipper engine though
have to find a whole one
