yeah sounds like that. although i have just went and had a look at the origional intake. and its tiny. so this thing must act like a huge scoop/ram to get even more air in.

ah youve replace the under grill intake with the viper one anyway. so theres no point for you to use it. its meant for people still with airbox i think

tis called VIPERIPOFFSTOOPIDPRICEFORANINDUCTIONKIT made by pipercross. mayeb be expensive but its the best filter i've tried yet.

I also just went out and had a look. the only way i'd say it'd make it less restrictive is if it shortened the bit under the slam panel, but then you cant do that cause theres no where for the air to get in .
Give Regal a phone and ask them what it actually is/ what it replaces... then let us know so we can bodge one using the standard aire box trunking .

just gave them a call and apparently it replaces the standard air intake tube thingy just under the grill. its supposed to be more wider so more air can get into it. asked about which engine it was tested on and they said they haven't a clue. i'm guessing it was done to the 1.8 SRI.
