when i pull away from a roundabout the car drives off then loses power and then picks up a second or 2 later, i tweeked my distributor and it has seemed to cure the problem, but the engine idle speed sounds too fast, and as its a 1.2 it doesnt have a rev counter so i havent a clue wot its idleing at lol.

check the throttle cable... SPI's can get a bit sticky, so take the WD40 to the throttle cable / levers & see how it goes from there
ICV on SPI's isn't as dodgy as what it is on the 16v's, I did over 100k on my old engine & it never needed adjusting or cleaning once!

underneath the distributor cap, there is a 12/13 mm bolt, slacken that off and then the distributor can pivot. if u turn it towards you it retards the timing, and the other way will advance it, but i've heard i can mess the engine up eventually if u run it too advanced, valves and stuff. correct me if im wrong tho any1
