what would heating it up do mate?

Best bet is to take it off, give it a a quick sand to get the scratches out, prime it, then spray it. Could always go for a different colour as well.

Where exactly are the scratches mate?

I'm unsure on the pattern cos if you have the "orange peel" type stuff like in mine then you'll need to do the other side so it matches.

I'd just take some fine (1200) sandpaper to it, job done. Depends how deep the scratches are though.

they r not too deep its just the burrs that need removing.

if it's not too noticeable, you could always try one of them soft sanding brushes for the dremel.

yeah that would work, make sure you get some 1200 or 1600 stuff though, nothing too tough.
