On the intake system there's an extra chamber the joins onto the intake pipe (Just topide of the rocker cover, see pic) but it doesn't go anywhere. Ive had the box off loads of times but there nothing conected to it underneith and its not shown in my haynes book. I can't see what use it serves, just wondered if anyone knew what it was for.

I have the same engine in my garage, I can't see what its for either. I can remember the same question asked a while back, possibly something to do with a buffer air supply?

I wondered if it was something like a buffer/expansion tank sort of thing, also how can you tell if you've got the Hi-Tourque engine or not? The motor pulls like a train so I presume it is but I'm not sure.

its just part of the inlet plenum. Just bin it. Tidy engine by the way Also get rid of the hot air shrouding on the exhaust manifold and seal up both ends

I might get a simple shape inlet chamber from another corsa. I want to keep the hot air feed cos it gets very cold up er in the north, it shuts off when the engine gets up to temp anyway .

fair-do's marco. Besides, that valve inside has an annoying tendancy to get stuck, so make sure you check and clean it every so often.
