Great head unit, Ive got the top 1 and my mates got the bottom 1(in black tho) Id say get the bottom 1 if you take your ICE seriously (subs an amps etc) I just wanted to listen to CD's so top 1 suits my needs. Both cracking headunits tho

9812 is an old model,the one at top is a new 2004 one.
Get the 2004 replacement for the 9812, its deffo worth the extra money.

im assuming that top of the range one would be more than enough to drive a set of comps without need for another amp

no headunit is good enuff to drive decent comps properly, u will always need an amp.

For decent comps u want 100W RMS a channel, even the best alpine hu's only deliver 26w RMS a channel.
