Guru no.... GOD yes

The Rockford FNQ components are ACE.. have heard these a few times and they do sound very nice.. The subs could do with an upgrade mate.. but thats just me.. im an Anti Alpine sub guy

I would say go for JL Audio, as there is a nationwide deal with them at the moment.. The 12" W3v2 in a D4 configuration would work pretty well with those MRDM amps

As for the HU tho Rockford aint all that when it comes to the HU's.. go for an Alpine unit

The reason the HU's are a little pants is my girlfriend has just had some problems with the catching system (to release the faceplate) and thus blew a fuse When Sound Gallery had a look, they suggested getting a new unit.. Cos the belt on the back is getting put on extra strain and could rip.. meaning a new HU

(this is that information belt thingy.. cant remember the tech name for it + its late )

Other than that you were nearly spot on with your system choice

I know its a long post this, but i dont care

the alpine MRD-M300's seem a tad underpowered to me on my 12W3V2, i think u cud do a lot better than the alpine amps too, but they r ok for the price.

And being blatantly honest i think my old alpine sub sounded better than the JL one. Funny eh.

yes, i have changed it some more today, mucked with the parametric EQ thing on the amp and it does sound a lot better now.

Does anyone know a good cut of frequency for a 12W3V2, mine was 80Hz, but now at 105Hz and sounds better.
Shall i go upto 120Hz?

Adi, dont go much above 100Hz with a 12", sounds like you like kick? Have you lowered the fronts down to 80Hz yet? definatley sounds like a problem between 80 - 140Hz for you (midbass area).

Maybe run it upto 120Hz but on the amps EQ LOWER it at around 120 Hz, maybe by 3-6dB to give you a nice smooth roll-off. High bass around 120Hz (midbass) can start to sound BAD through subs...

well it does sound a lot better now, i mucked with the amps parametric eq thing...
I like the music to sound smooth if u know what i mean, not like a bass line with some music aswell.
Fronts are down to 80Hz but they dont do shit tbh, pissy little magnets on em!

so tomas on the parametric eq thing can u adjust boost at each Hz setting or just set a boost and choose the frequency?
Do u need to save it after?

parametric means pick a frequency, choose your boost OR cut (cut is OFTEN forgotten) and then choose the width. Id choose a medium width 2-3Q with 3-5dB CUT and at around 120Hz. It SHOULD remember the settings.

my amp only offers width of 1 or 3.

at the moment i have width set to 3 and it set to +2bd at 80Hz.

It sounded soo bad as it was previously set on +10 db at 60hz lol!!!!!

So shud i set the cutoff to 120Hz and make the eq flat or is it best as it is?

Set crossover to 120LP and then set EQ to 120Hz -3dB with width of 3... That should do the trick. You just godda play around like you are doing though, until you get it right. Unless you upgrade those fronts no ammount of EQing will help...
