all i need is £2640
Quaife 5 speed F20 straight cut box with final drive of 3.190
gives these figures on there speed calculator....
Top Gear gives 21.918 MPH/1000 RPM and a top speed of 158.902 MPH at 7250 RPM
Engine speeds in top gear:-
30 MPH = 1369 RPM 40 MPH = 1825 RPM 50 MPH = 2281 RPM 60 MPH = 2738 RPM
70 MPH = 3194 RPM 80 MPH = 3650 RPM 90 MPH = 4106 RPM 100 MPH = 4563 RPM
Top Speed in 1 gear = 71.947 MPH
And changes into 2 gear at 5302 RPM dropping 1948 RPM
Top Speed in 2 gear = 98.372 MPH
And changes into 3 gear at 5966 RPM dropping 1284 RPM
Top Speed in 3 gear = 119.548 MPH
And changes into 4 gear at 6263 RPM dropping 987 RPM
Top Speed in 4 gear = 138.377 MPH
And changes into 5 gear at 6314 RPM dropping 936 RPM
Top Speed in 5 gear = 158.902 MPH
i want one

imo - geared too long
think about it - how often are you going to be doing 158 mph
hence if your racing someone off the lights 1st and 2nd gear arn't gonna be short enough to really let you get into the power band - unless you end up doing stupidly fast speeds
would be more sensible if it was like
1st top end was 51
2nd top end was 71
3rd top end was 98
4th top end was 119
5th top end was 138
that way, when you cruise along the motorway etc you can have it in 5th, but then drop a gear and race. but also still be able to pull away from lights etc alright.
though maybe if you have a lot of power - it won't really matter as much
still having to be doing about 40 ish mph in 1st before it really starts kicking into the power band is gonna suck a bit off the lights don't you think?

was just looking at it as you only need 2 gearchanges for 1/4 mile instead of 3, and for 0-60 sprint you only have 1 change.
with 280bhp cant be worried about long gearing, but i have found a better, more sensible one:
Top Speed in 1 gear = 49.654 MPH
And changes into 2 gear at 5024 RPM dropping 2226 RPM
Top Speed in 2 gear = 71.660 MPH
And changes into 3 gear at 5849 RPM dropping 1401 RPM
Top Speed in 3 gear = 88.818 MPH
And changes into 4 gear at 6076 RPM dropping 1174 RPM
Top Speed in 4 gear = 105.984 MPH
And changes into 5 gear at 5300 RPM dropping 1950 RPM
Top Speed in 5 gear = 144.967 MPH

yup a lot better... but when you think about it - if your on the motorway racing people... if you go into 5th you've got a big step up...
You need a 6 speed box mate
if not - that final set you posted seems pretty decent too as you will have the power kicking in at around 19-20 mph in 1st, then bye bye Sxi
