u do lose £.. best way is find a good deal on finance.. or free insurance etc
then trade it in every 3 years, no MOT no hassle

Agree with charlie or get ex demos, they are usually higher spec too to show off options to customers

I always buy new aswell, nothing better than picking up a brand new car
As for yours mate, how about a new Mini. Ideally you needs to spend 14k to get a decent spec but 13k will get you a reasonable one brand new. I have a Cooper, bought it brand new @ 20 and insurance is £700ish. Grp8. Pretty nippy, look good, excellent handling and rock sold residuals means you can upgrade in 2yrs.

a 1.0 corsa club
no one wanted it once it got to 2 years old
it was totally standard too, bodywork was mint as was the interior, mechanicals weren't so good discs were warped, leaky rocker cover gasket, clunking steering, tyres were quite warn and it had a new clutch init too.
it looked good though

I got red with black roof, clear lights, Chilli Pack, 17s, Air Con, tints etc.
If you get one, make sure you get Chilli Pack (half leather sports seats, sports suspension, chrome pack, silver interior trim etc) and air con or apparently they are hard to sell. I wasn't bothered about air con but got it for that reason.
I love it to bits, terrific car, always makes me smile when I drive it and hopefully it'll hold its value well when I come to trade up in a yr or so.
Hopefully going to get some new pics tomorrow so I'll post them up.
Not keen on the cab myself but I they're going to be popular. Huge waiting lists!

i reckon those minis will drop in value in about a years/2yrs time. As everyone who brought one straight off will be up for buying a new one and there will be millions of em floating about
