Easy questions, i know, but never done it and dont want to mess it up
Whats the best way? - popping the badges off and giving it a good polish sounds far to easy!.

pull badges off, remove glue with a toffee wheel.

This is the way I did it:
1) Stole mums hairdryer
2) Held hairdryer over badge for 10 mins to melt glue
3) Used a plastic card to remove the badges and most of the glue
4) Picked the remainder of the glue off
5) Polish
