check all the wiring, fuses...or all of your HU's could be over heating
tbh mate, i would check all of the wring with a multimeter and wiggle the cables about and see if you have a dodgy split in one of the wires etc.
Although when it dies, does it die just to the speakers? or does the power go?

aye, im no electrics expert, but it sounds like you have a dodgy connection. thats why its going off. having 4-5 duff HU's is highly improbable.

well its jus the standard wiring into the plug and theres 4 speakers so i doubt the wiring's going on them all!!
power and all is there the HU's are working fine with cd's spinning away and going up on the clock timer etc but jus no sound

so, the power stays, but the sound doesnt? sounds like something is shorting to me, or the speaker connections are fecked
Again, get out ye multimeter and have a buzz around the cables (although make sure you disconnect the iso block and speakers, otherwise when you buzz the cables together the coils will complete the circuit (which you dont want ).
hope this helps mate

check connections on the backs of speakers and watch wires as u push em in, sounds like some sort of protection mode that the HU goes into.

could be the output for speakers on HU, like when an amp stops.
i had it on mine and was the wires on front doors speakers.
