I have the Corsa C 1.8 Sri and have been told that it is recommended to use 10w 40 oil. Would Castrol Magnatec 10w 40 be the best choice for this?

a lot of ppl reccomend vauxhalls own 10/40, but i have never tried it to be honest, not even sure wot oil is in mine at the min !!!

the vauxhall gear is top quality
i use the semi synthetic on ma 1.2
if u know sum1 in the trade club at vauxhall u can get 25 litres for bout 40 quid...

yes, just use Vauxhall Semi-Synth Oil
magnatec aint all its cracked up to be

So you would recommend against it then? I thought that Castrol knew their stuff about oil.

i use castrol 10-40 semi synth in my 1.4 16v corsa, castrol is what my mate uses at mercedes so it cant be bad if a 90grand car uses it can it?
but jus dont skimp on buying oil either get vauxhall 10-40 or castrol imo

I just use Vauxhall's Semi-synth. Worked a treat in my Astra, so I'm using it in the Corsa too.

Ive always used Vauxhalls own.. but thats coz I get it cheap through my brother.

i always use comma eurolite 10w40 semi synthetic in mine runs a treat, did you know comma oil is all made by esso/mobil? and commas syner z 0w40 is exectly the same as mobil 1, bit of inside info there for ya!!

Ditto, mobil 1 is the best, but on a std vx engine just plonk some 10-40w semi syn in it.
On mercs if they use mobil the service intervals double so got to be good right
