I'd leave it in, a piece of 2x4 wood across the engine bay to support the engine, you have take the shafts out, then the gearbox mounts, then the box to engine mounts. linkage, then slot the new one in.
dropping the engine out is a lot of work as you will need to remove the exhaust, all the pipes, much less hassle to leave the engine in. Especially on a sunny weekend in malta

4 now some more fuel and goes faster than standard + lowered by 40 mm
i have some tipes 4 diesel engines especaily for the 1.7 isuzu unit
These engines are the best 4 mod 4 example 1/4 mile best time here in Malta for the isuzu t4ee1 with mod is about 13 sec( standard Cosworth 1/4 time). It's quite common to see Corsa diesel passing over a Corsa GSI or rs turbos

Block of wood under the sump with a trolley jack is best as you can then lower the engine to ease removal of the box

I donot think so either.....

B's with x16xe and about 160hp kan do a 15.5 when you are lucky....
170hp 20xe A Corsa (= nova) can do a 14.0.
all 1/4 mile at Drachten this summer.
