My 1.4 8V Spi isn't behaving itself lateley, its got plenty of go about it but if your at below about 2000 rpm (in say 1st/2nd) and you floor it, it sort of pauses then accelerates, above about 2000 its fine, low down torque seems to be suffering a bit too. Also sometimes when you come down off the revs it idles high for a second or two then returns to normal. Ive recently drilled my airbox but I can't see this being too much of a factor.
The two theories that I can think of are either, ICV, or stiff throttle cable.
Any Ideas?

Could be a problem with the lambda sensor, might be causing overfuelling... Either do the paperclip test (I dont know how, but someone will) or take it to a vaux dealer to have the fault codes read.
hope this helps! Ash.

if u drilled ur airbox and didnt reset ur ecu then this will be causing the problem.
the amount of air getting into the engine will be far higher than it was originally getting meaning that ur fueling etc will be all over the place.
Disconnect the power and reconnect and do a short journey shud be fine after that!
