after giving my 2.0l a quick service and driving it back home i poped the bonnet and the coolent lid blew off and the coolent pissed out every where also the spark plugs tips were red when i changed them
any help will be much appreciated

I dont know bout the spark plugs mate but the as for the coolant lid you must not have put it on right, this happened to me just after I gave my car a mini service I put the cap back on tight and its been ok since.

could be pressure building up, happened to me before on old car and instead of the lid flying off, a hose came off, changed the head gasket

a couple of weeks ago my car had no coolent in and ive been putting about a litre of coolent in a week
