Anybody know which is the best processor out at the moment, i was told that athons new 64bit processors arereally good. Im thinking of buying this one:

It's alright... Depends what u will be doing with your pc really...

End of the day you pc will be out-dated in a year even with the top stuff, so its usually better to go for the just below top stuff anyway...

I think the top processor at the moment is the pentium 4 3.4 ghz?

could be wrong though.

Have a look on eBay mate. I've seen half built systems going for under £100 with Athlon 3000, 1024 RAM, Motherboard, 8* DVD Writer.

Althon 3000+'s are shit, especially compared to a P4 3Ghz.
The 64bit Althlon's won't run at 64bit properly unless you have a 64bit Windows.
Get a P4
