Hey guys,

driving to work this morning my engine management light came on for about 10 seconds. I've just done the paperclip trick and it's given me fault code 93, which apparently a 'quad drive module (in ecu)', any ideas as to wtf this means?! it's a 1996 1.4 sport.

a new ecu is expensive aint it about a grand or sumthin?

could be anything mate, could be a sensor thats got too warm and cooled down, wouldnt worry too much as it wads only on for 10sec's. if it comes on again, and agin, or for a long time. then take it to be looked at. fault finding is £30 from vaux

no,

according to my autodata book, code 93 is:

ECU-fuelpump/carbon canister/ EGR valve/ torque control...

its emmisions based mate, book into a vaux dealer, it'll cost about £30 to fing out what it is

Niall, the paper clip trick is just using a paper clip to short out 2 of the pins in the multiplug next to the fuses to put the ecu into diagnostic mode, this then makes the engine management light flash in a sequence acording to the fault code.
