gunna take the back seat sout and put a false floor in, but i cant do it! i tried to do a flase floor for the boot, and i cant use wood it fittis poo. anyone fancy making me one thats close!

also what do people do with the plastic bits at the side behind the rear seats? cover them/take them out too?

i used cardbored to make a template then transferd it on to the wood i also made a frame inside the car so the wood sat off the floor and under the plastic bit

only with the top on which u have seen and its screwed down now its just a square with the wood sat on top i will take some pics 2mora as i need the top off anyway

Won't the wood be just as heavy as the rear seats? thus giving no gains at all . I hate the thought of using wood in a car, What about using fibreglass or something.

use 6mm mdf, light as hell. Use the carpet as a template as this is perfect shape

dont strip the car out and put the weight back into the car in MDF

I've worked with loads of sizes of MDF and I can assure you 6mm is not that light at all. Ply wood is lighter than MDF but its not as easy to work with.

I supose on a small floor pannel it would be lighter than the 6x4 sheets I'm used to carrying around

a cage depends upton whether or not you want a show cage or a proper safety cage.. show cages usually mount to the seat belt mounts or struts. whereas proper saftey cages are normally welded to the car.

as for the false floor... i made some sub woofer boxes and placed one either side of the boot. with a small amp rack bridging the two. (they fitted underneath the plastic side bits.infront of that i got a box section and then the same layout as the rear in the front in place of the back seat which is fixed to the rear door cards on brackets... will get some photo's

i also have a new parcel shelf fitted which comes to about 3 inches above my stuct brace.

how do u get the back seats out! i know the bench bit just sort of pulls out but what about the other bit? do u have to take the plastic off to get to the screws??

only need a show cage, dont want it for motorsport. so it'll bolt the the strut tops?
