yeah i guess the same amount spent on a ATi or nVidia will get you a very similar spec....
ive had a nVidia four years now and its extremely outdated! however it can still just about run todays games(only just though) so just shows how good nVidia are
so i think im gonna try a ATi Radeon next, a freind of mine has a lower spec Ati Radeon 9000 or somthing on his new pc and its awesome, runs games easily

So there is all this talk and afaik no1 has even mention what mobo this is all being slapped into.
Now you can have the biggest and the best of everything, but if you dont get a decent mobo it will all be for nothing.
You also havent mentioned what you want to use this computer for, as people are talking bout what DDR you want. Which is really dependant on what you wanna do with it, cause you dont need Mushkin ram if you are playing winmine.
For a decent mobo make sure you its a relatively new model and that its from a decent company like Asus or MSI.
Also, for your HDD make sure it has a decent RPM to it, the minimum it should be is 7,200 else your wasting your time with it.

Just adding that the Hightech ATI IceQ 9800PRO 128mb wipes the floor with any Nvidia GeForce5/Fx card, including most 5900's
Building a new machine now which consists of that card, an AMD64 3200+, an Asus K8V/SE Deluxe Mobo and 512mb of OCZ Enhanced Latency Platinum Edition RAM
