...for in-car movies... Can store around 20+ movies on a removable HDD, or just play 1 DVD at a time.
Quality will be the same, only difference, no bonus features with DivX or subtitles, but quicker to select a different movie & play it.

DivX if you can get them good enough quality - I guess you'll be ripping them from DVD won't you?

yeah will be ripping from my own collection (personal backups they shall be!), so will be of good quality 
audio @ 192kbps, video should be ok at a low-ish res, as will only be playing back on a 7" screen!

Yea do DivX then, as your going to have an in car PC. That would be ace!

60gb USB-powered 2.5" external hdd should do the trick
