Anyone got a Snooper S1 radar detector?
Whats the verdict on them?
I know they're like the basic version, that false alarm and that, but surely its better than nothing? how often do they false alarm and have you ever had it NOT detect a camera?
Just curious as I'd like to buy a cheap detector which won't matter if it gets nicked ...
cheers.

no it aint - as they go off that often, you start to ignore them, cause ya sick of slowing down for false alarms, and thats when you fly past a camera

hehe... So how often do you guys reckon it does false alarm?
i.e. say a 8 mile drive... part rural, part town... 1 known speed camera on route... how many times will it go off do you think?

Mine's only ever picked up two laser sites. However it tells me where every set of traffic lights and railway lines are.
You can have it for £40

But whats it like on motorways? does it go off much on them? (false alarms) ?
and is it possible to completely mute it - i.e. round town... then switch it on when you get on a motorway...?

Cool It's only really motorway driving I want it for...
£30 seems fair enough. Even if its just on silent and used as a gadget to impress passengers lol.

I've not found anything on Motorways for it to beep at. Other than railway lines.

Keep it on auto-mute. It chirps first then makes a clicking sound until the "threat" is no more.
A bit less embarassing when sitting at traffic lights.
